Welcome

Authors, Large and Small is a literary publicity agency with teammates around the world working from home, in order to foster work-life balance and preserve our planet's resources. We're experienced with copy and developmental editing, ghost writing, author coaching, manuscript critique, market research, and query letter and book proposal preparation.

Our team has decades of combined experience promoting books and films of all genres and styles, including indie and self-published projects. We're skilled with creating and distributing email pitches and press releases, communicating through various forms of social media, landing media and literary magazine interviews for our clients, obtaining intelligent and well-placed blog reviews, and setting up bookstore signings and speaking tours for authors.

How It Works

We invite all interested clients to select one of the packages of services that we offer. We'll work with you to customize a package where you choose the publicity services you need. Once we begin work on publicizing your project, and receive your payment, we'll hire someone on our team who provides research, communication, and social media assistance. Our team members are people who are living with disabilities, on their way out of homelessness, or otherwise in need of flexible employment opportunities. The majority of funds received goes directly to the teammates.

We're a business aiming to foster long-term social and ecological sustainability, conserving resources where possible, by among other things, having everyone work from home. We create work opportunities and income for qualified and resourceful people who face unnecessary barriers to employment due to disability, social stigma, caregiving or other family or community responsibilities and help them to re-enter the workforce in the future. We operate according to a partnership model, working alongside you to find people who will amplify your messages, reach them where they already gather, and communicate in a way that they will understand and respond!

Cristina Deptula, Founder

Our teammates and I have solid experience and knowledge about what you need to put your book together and bring it to market.

We're skilled in the promotional work that comes just before and after publication, including crafting pitches for target audiences, fearlessly requesting endorsements, landing reviews and author interviews. We'll coordinate signings and speaking opportunities at bookstores, festivals, community events, podcasts, and other less traditional venues. We'll enhance your online presence through SEO, email list-building, content creation, and targeted outreach to social media influencers.

Our team comes to literary publicity from a wide variety of backgrounds. Several of us are published authors (fiction, nonfiction and children's titles) and we've previously held positions as online community managers for corporations, nonprofit and educational content writers, literary festival organizers, librarians, and nonprofit development and communications representatives. And most importantly, we're thoughtful human beings who will bring caring, wisdom and responsibility to your projects.
